WELCOME

Welcome to my site! My name is Melissa, or "MJ" as many people know me. I am a local, self-taught photographer here in Orlando, FL. I was born in North Carolina and raised just outside of Tampa, FL. I presently work full time in healthcare but developed a passion and hobby for photography at an early age. Over the past few years, I’ve been fortunate enough to blend my love of travel and photography into the photos you’ll see throughout my portfolio. 

My travels around the world have allowed me the opportunity to capture different cultural experiences, dimensions and organic beauty. Featured in Princess Cruises’ marketing advertisements, my “Aialik Glacier” piece became a finalist in their Places to Sea competition.

As my travels have recently slowed down, I've shifted my expertise toward capturing the unique memories of those around me and diving into the world of portrait and candid photography. My attention to detail and desire for quality edited images have allowed me to create my own part time business, MJ Photography, in which I take pride in capturing the special moments. From graduation announcements and maternity memories to family portraits and gender reveals, I love to do it all.
